As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, on Friday I visited Leslie Rinchen-Wongmo’s studio at Bell Arts Factory 432 Ventura Avenue and subscribed to her “Weekly Wake-Up Call”which features a detail from one of her images and an inspirational quote. Leslie also gave me permission to post her images and quotes; thank you, Leslie!
In Leslie’s fabric thangkas, she renders inspiring Buddhist images in vivid mosaics of silk which are intricately layered and hand-stitched. Leslie exhibits her work internationally; her features include FiberArts and Spirituality & Health magazines and her story is the subject of the acclaimed documentary film, Creating Buddhas: the Making and Meaning of Fabric Thangkas.
